PERTE Recycling Centers

As part of the Support Plan for the Implementation of Waste Regulations, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PERTE), the Cáceres Province Environment and Water Consortium – MásMedio of the Cáceres Provincial Goverment is developing a project called ‘PROVINCIAL PLAN OF RECYCLING CENTERS IN THE PROVINCE OF CÁCERES’.

The project ‘PROVINCIAL PLAN OF RECYCLING CENTERS IN THE PROVINCE OF CÁCERES’ aims to adapt and improve, as well as to build recycling center in the province of Cáceres.

A ‘recycling center’ is understood to be those closed and environmentally controlled facilities, located in urban or peri-urban areas, in which specific containers are available for the selective collection of waste similar to urban waste that requires specialised collection and treatment.

Investment

MasMedio will invest more than 5 million euros in the adaptation and creation of recycling center in the province.

Who finances?

The project ‘PROVINCIAL PLAN OF RECYCLING CENTER IN THE PROVINCE OF CÁCERES’ has a budget of 5,125,107.53 euros and is financed entirely financed by the European Union Next-Generation EU’. This project will be regulated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Sustainable Development of the Regional Government of Extremadura, with whom an agreement has been signed.

32 beneficiary municipalities

The interventions to be carried out in this project will be, on the one hand, the adaptation or refurbishment of existing recycling center and will be executed in the localities whose Town Councils have already transferred the management of these spaces to MasMedio: Alía, Cañamero, Casas del Monte, Deleitosa, Escurial, Garrovillas de Alconétar, Hervás, Malpatida de Plasencia, Montánchez, Navezuelas, Piornal, Puerto de Santa Cruz, Santa Ana, Torrejoncillo, Cabrero, Carrascalejo, Cedillo, Eljas and Peraleda de San Román.

In the other hand, it’s included too the construction of new Recycling Centers in 13 municipalities where didn’t exists this facilities: Herrera de Alcántara, Navas del Madroño, Pinofranqueado, Tejeda de Tiétar, Valverde del Fresno, Alcántara, Aldea del Cano, Arroyo de la Luz, Hernán-Pérez, Hinojal, Romangordo, Acehúche and Cabezuela del Valle.
